I've always been able to understand and appreciate them, think I'd be a good one, just that there aren't really any good politicians out there, and for a reason.

Me too! When I look at politicians these days, I only see them FAIL horribly. Then I think to myself: I can do that much better! And it's true, most people in the government are incompetent. I mean, the leader of the social-democrats here was a housewife that suddenly got herself into politics. She's incredibly bad and will make the party disappear. Woohoo! Anyone of you blokes know this fellow? EDIT: His name is Geert Wilders off course He's the 'extreme-rightist' as our lefties call him. He spreads the word in the world about the islamization of Europe. He was refused entry on that island Britain cause he wanted to show his movie 'Fitna' in the parliament (house of commons?) there and in which he compares the koran and the muslims as fascists and what not. He is in the parliament of the Netherlands! Though he is excellent in polarising society, as soon as he gets into power I'm afraid he can only fail. He's a yeller, but as soon as he has to take responsibility himself, he'll probably fail miserably too. Don't know if I'm gonna vote for him or a more lefter guy. Any advice?

Well...for city council in my very liberal city...my Democratic candidate lost in the primaries to a Korean, who after sweeping the primaries, lost the general election to a Pagan Republican. The district might be 20% Korean. How weird is that!?

I've been into politics for a while. I'm partial to communist ways. I'm very anti-modern government, ever since the compulsary vaccination for the Swine Flu hoax as been announced, hatred for Barack Obama's policies has burned inside me.
I'm British, but i'm supporting Ron Paul in 2012 if he decides to run for election, he's one of the only people in politics that isn't a tyranncial dick jockey. This New World Order what Obama is trying to make is a planetary dictatorship and the epitome of bullshit and deception.
Oh you can call me a conspiracy theorist I guess, 9/11 was an inside job, the war in Afganistan is pointless and JFK was killed by the CIA. Meh, there you go, call me crazy I don't care, facts and evidence support me...
Politics is a touchy issue we'll have to lay some ground rules for these discussions or there will be ALOT of flaming...

Anyone one read news about the Lisbon Treaty? If so, what do you think of it.

I'm Libertarian, but I lean more towards the conservative side of things. I don't like Obama (not because I'm jumping on the righty bandwagon), but I don't agree with some of his platforms.

Obama could be the anti-christ. You know, end of the world: a man will come and bring peace in the Middle-East. He's already won the Nobel-piece prize for Peace! (Which is odd considering he hasn't done shit)
Peace! Peace! Peace! They will yell. And we will have chips in our bodies. And we all die! 2012...
Things are actually looking quite bad... Things have changed the last decade and no-one can save us. The worst of the flu and crisis have yet to come. Or not? I have not noticed shit personally so beh.
Isn't it a prejudice of me to think that political power can?(must?) be bought in America? How many millions did his campaign cost?

Whoever spends more on campaigning typically wins. I might not go as far as calling him the anti-christ, but I do think he'll drive this country in the wrong way.

Democracy has become a contest of shallow popularity, rather than the intelligent election of whoever has ideas you agree with.

I couldn't agree more. My gut tells me that our founding fathers only intended for the intelligent people to vote, not the general "I like his suit so he gets my vote" population. I know this will never happen, but I would almost like there to be some sort of mail-in, pre-ballot test you have to pass so you can at least prove you have some knowledge of the candidates and their platforms.
