- Sun Tzu
- Han Xin

Hmm where is your Xiang Yu? None of those five conquered an entire empire in two years...

Sun Ce never did enough to be one of the 5 greats, that's just silly even adding him to that list.
I personally loved
Zhang Liang (for obvious reasons) Sun Tzu Cao Cao Xiang Yu (1 word, Qin) Liu Bang Yue Fei Han Xin Jia Xu (I just really like this guy)

Sun Ce never did enough to be one of the five greats? That's interesting. Sun Ce is often compared to Xiang Yu with reason. He laid the foundation of what would later become the Wu kingdom. With 5000 men. Saying he hasn't done enough to be one of the greats is silly.

Where did you get that from? Sun Jian's only merits were in fighting Dong Zhuo, nothing else.

1) Sun Tzu Why: Fundamental strategies and beliefs set the standards for Chinese warfare for decades to come and is still studied by many military commands. 2) Wei Qing Why: Wei Qing managed to not only defeat but decimate the Xiong-Nu for generations through a harsh and effective campaign that saw him eliminate countless Xiong-Nu chieftains of great fame and renown amongst their own people and capture various holy sites. Wei Qing, during his campaigns, would eliminate the Xiong-Nu threat for almost four hundred bloody years. After all... showmanship is half the battle. 3) Yue Fei Why: Yue Fei, while not exactly a prime general on the actual field of combat, was a excellent statesman and general when it came to preparation and deployment. Yue Fei would help create a well trained and veteran standing army during the course of his military career which proved vital to his kingdom's success. 4) Xiang Yu Why: If anyone goes by my motto of 'showmanship is half the battle' it is this man. Xiang Yu was a man who knew how to put terror into the heart's of man and turn it into a steely ball which would haunt not only them but the people they would associate with. I don't have to go into to much detail of why Xiang Yu is on this list, but I will go into why he is not higher up. Xiang Yu allowed himself to be distracted, quite easily at that, by two things. His personal pride and women as anyone who knows of his downfall can tell. 5) Cao Han! Why: You'd have to be my friend to understand this joke

Hmm where is your Xiang Yu? None of those five conquered an entire empire in two years... He was a good general but his political ignorance is too noticable. Plus, he ruined himself in the end. Xiang Yu was nothing compared to the other five imo.

I don't think Sun Ce did enough to be a part of the top 5. top 10, maybe, but top 5 no bloody way. Yes he did lay the foundations of Wu, but he never really built Wu and he died way too early. He defeated a series of generals but his achievements, to me at least - don't compare with any of the other generals listed. Xiang Yu was compared to him yes, but only by the emperor If I recall correctly, and Xiang Yu was still a lot better. Guan Yu is worshipped in parts of China - it didnt make him an 'ubber general' according to history though did it? I just feel Sun Ce lacked that certain...power that the others had, I also sort of dislike Wu.
