Cao Xiu had been away for little more than a month since leaving to aquire the city of Xiangping, although the time within the bounderies of the unalligned land amassed to a mere three days. Returning to his defensive position Xiu felt a swelling sensation of finally being back at the place he called 'home, the frontline.

As he passed through the gate of the city he was met with bustling streets, crowding to see the return of the army, wifes and children looking for their husbands. Xiu felt happy, not a single soldier fell, so there would be rejoicing in the city today.

He ignored the crowd for the most part and proceeded to the Yamen, he was greeted at the bottom of the steps by Grand Commandant Liang Zhi, the two bowed from the waists and Liang ushered Cao up the steps, as they were walking up Zhi said, "You performed no small task Master Xiu, after Red Cliff the people needed a break from the bloodshed, and you spared us just that, congratulations General." Xiu bowed acknologing the compliment, the two entered the yamen and had a drink.
