Personality: Gao Lifang is a quiet girl who keeps her opinions to herself. She is not one for small talk and likes to get straight to the point. She's not very patient, and can quickly grow cold toward someone if they keep her waiting. Gao Lifang's favorite thing to do is to take leisurely horseback rides through the countryside. As you may have guessed, Gao Lifang can't stand bandits and won't hesitate to draw her swords if she meets one.
History: The village that Gao Lifang grew up in certainly wasn't the safest place to raise a child. It's not like there was anything wrong with the village itself. The residents were friendly enough, the land was fertile for crops to grow, and a river flowed near enough that there was no shortage of fresh water. The problem was that the village was often the target of bandits. It was a rather common sight for Gao Lifang, as well as her eight older siblings, to watch her father leave the village with the rest of the local militia to combat approaching groups of bandits. He always managed to make it back home just fine though.
Other that her village being on constant alert for bandits, Gao Lifang's childhood was relatively normal. She played with the other village children, learned how to take care of herself, and even managed to convince her father to give her combat lessons when he wasn't busy. Okay, perhaps that last bit wasn't too normal for a young girl. It didn't stop Lifang from wanting to learn how to fight though. Her bitterness toward bandits and thieves, as well as the feeling of emptiness she got every time she saw her father leave to go fight, drove her to grow stronger. She was going to do something about it.
The years passed by while Gao Lifang watched her brothers and sisters grow up and leave home. Some stayed in the village. Most grew fed up with the constant attacks and left. Either way, it wasn't too long before she was the last one in the care of her parents. She continued lessons with her father on how to use a blade in battle. Eventually her father sat down and spoke with her. He had grown old and decrepit, and had no wish for her to stay home and watch him waste away in his old age. Lifang's father gave her enough money for a horse and some provisions before telling her to get out and see the world. As sad as she was to go, she knew that this was what she had been training for. Bandits beware, Gao Lifang is coming for you!
