500 Veteran Swordsmen - 500 Spike Demon Swordsmen
The day was young, Sarugaku had slowly came awake once more from the bedroom in the capital building. Gently shifting toward the side of the bed, he stood upward. Right hand moved upward toward his forehead. Head banging like crazy as the news that Wei was growing stronger by the day. This of course displeased him to the greatest extent. Right hand moved across his forehead, trying his best to ease the pain. "I need to come up with something, dog units, elephants, they all mean nothing if our regular units are suffering major losses!" Right hand quickly shot from his forehead against the table.
The coltropes that were on the table fell onto the picture of a sword, one of the spikes shot outward toward the outside of the sword. This giving the image of a sword with spikes on it. Sarugaku quickly shifted toward the table, hands gently placed onto the table as he looked at the drawing. Throwing the caltropes onto his bed he started to draw the designs of it. "Ok if it is at the length of a regular sword and, has spikes jetting out of one side. What could that do to the unit?" In his mind the multiple images started to race though, the number one problem that could solve anything was disarming an opponent. "Ok so if the spikes were attached to the sword, not only will the force increase but with enough it would cause them to release the grip with the pressure. Plus if the sword was dragged across another blade it would cause the blade to spin and the user to drop it, or at least make it harder for them to get a hit.." While saying this the designs were being played with in his head, in his mind thinking that maybe making the spikes smaller it wouldn't add too much weight to each swing.
An hour past and the final designs were drawn up. A blade, about an three inches smaller then a regular blade with about three inch spikes coming out of the right side of it. The grip made out of leather and a small loop at the end for the users wrist, this way if the male would be disarmed from his blade he could reach down and pick it up once more with out giving up any ground. Sarugaku shifted out of his chambers, the day still as young as ever as he motioned for a messenger to come. Gently he whispered something to the eager messenger, "Go, by the empires order bring me a mold for a sword, the ones that black smiths use in order to craft them." The messenger bowed toward the commander and was off toward the nearest black smith.
When the messenger reached the blacksmith he bowed quickly. The male who was covered in coal and such tilted his head toward the messenger. "By the empire's orders you are to hand over a sword mold." The blacksmith thought for a second, gazing at the messenger, looking at him to make sure he was for real. Before a little while he turned around and picked up one of the many molds that laid on the ground, him picking it up with one hand before placing it in the hopefully capable hands of the messenger. The moment the messenger wrapped his arms around it, the stone almost caused him to drop to the ground. "T-thank you!!" Said the messenger before going at a snails pace, the fastest pace he could.
The messenger ran into the chambers of Sarugaku. The male coated in a thick layer of sweat and the stench that someone had died. Sarugaku stood upward and wrapped one arm around the stone, and with ease, lifted it up onto the table. "Go now, go to your own chambers I am dismissing you for today." With these words the messenger shot up a smile and left the capital. Sarugaku took out one of his blades, starting to strike the stone with enough force to cut it a bit. In his mind following the design that he had set, three inches from the blade, the spikes just on the right side. This creating a bunch of lines for the mold. Right hand returned his sword once more before he stood upward, figure shifted toward the left giving the mold to one of his men. Quickly he took off toward the blacksmith that gave it to him at the start.
The man gave the mold to the blacksmith. Simply the black smith blinked with an 'are you serious?' look. Quickly he shrugged his shoulders and took the mold and started to cut it into a blank slate. Making three molds of it. By this time it was reaching the days end and the trooper had returned. After bowing he told Sarugaku that he made three molds of the requested blade. "Good, good, go and tell him to make the three blades and bring them to the capital two days from now.." The trooper bowed and once more took off toward the blacksmith, after hearing the order he got to work on the blades. Starting to get work on the three blades that he ordered him to make. What helped the blacksmith more then anything would be the molds probably, hammering them into the shape would be easy, just require more metal to balance it out.
After two days the blacksmith came into the capital, bringing in the three blades. All of them having spikes on one side and leather handles. A small loop on the bottom of it to wrap around the wrist of the user, as to not disarm the user. The blacksmith walked into the chambers, his body once more covered in coal as he handed the blades to Sarugaku. Sarugaku wrapped his fingers around the blades and smiled toward the blacksmith. "Thank you, that will be all for now." The male turned and left the capital building off toward his own shop.
After a while two of his officers came in the room, Yuki and Kagon. Two of the more experienced swordsmen in all of his army. "Take a look at these." He threw one blade to each of his officers, they started to inspect them. Looking at the weight, and the spikes wondering what this would do in combat. "Let's try them out!" Sarugaku spoke toward the officers. All three of them shifted toward the training ground with their blades in their hands.
Upon reaching the training grounds they started to get to work. A three way sword duel until they gave up completely. Sarugaku charged at Yuki with great force before kicking off the ground and coming down with the force of both of his hands. Yuki's blade came upward, left hand behind the blade to reinforce it, even with the second hand the blade was pushed down so much with the added pressure the spikes almost cut though the males skull. Quickly Sarugaku dragged it downward, forcing Yuki to drop the blade. "I love these things!" Yelled Kagon from behind him, claping for the duel. Yuki flicked his wrist downward, grabbing the blade quickly and launching it against the side of Sarugaku's face. Quickly Sarugaku lifted the blade upward to block it but the force was too much and sent him rolling toward the side. A smile wide on all three of their faces. "We will deploy these into battle, will we not?" The men agreed and a messenger was sent out to the original black smith.
The blacksmith nodded toward the messenger that was sent to him wanting the spikes blades, and sent out the two molds to other blacksmiths. And so a chain was built before about 20 blacksmiths had 5 molds each. The order for the blades was 500 blades. The deadline was by the end of two month's. The payment would not be that much more than a regular blade, so with this in mind Sarugaku said that he would pay for the blades with his own gold.
