So, I'm guessing most, if not all, of us have played a console/PC ROTK game. Which were your favorties? Anyone want to tell a story of a particularly fun campaign you played?
I'll start. My favorite is ROTK VII, although I love the new duel system.
My favorite campaign was in ROTK VII I started as Guan Hai with the Yellow Turbans in the 184. When I finished, my character Guan Hai was basically the Guan Yu of that game (yes, i even beat him in a duel more than once). I fought under a whole bunch of different rulers (never ruled myself as Guan Hai), but my rulers kept doing stupid things when I wasn't in the battle. In the end, it wound up that the Three Kingdoms were Ma Teng, Sun Jian, and Cao Cao. I was surprised that Cao Cao wound up taking over He Jin's force, but thats what happened. Ma Teng was weaker and when he finally got finished off, I switched sides from Sun Jian to Cao Cao. I took the last city in (surprise!) 220, and united the land under Cao Cao's rule.
My stats had gone from crap/averagely bad to amazing. I had learned a bunch of skills, and won a bunch of duel tournaments. In the end, my WAR was 110 with items. I wish I still had ROTK VII, but its at home. VIII, X, and XI just aren't the same for me...

My favorite games of ROTK were actually rp's, and not video games...
The first was one that I played for over a year with a handful of people, there might have been six of us. Still to this date one of my favorite games and definitely my favorite admin of all time, who ran the game in a way I've never seen someone replicate. A true professional, the game essentially had everyone create a character and force, while the admin controlled every character from the book. We spent a year rping the game and we barely got past to Cao Cao attacking and defeating Yuan Shao.. it was truly something special. Honestly learned most of my rotk knowledge from that game, too.
Second of course would be CoD, and not just because I ended up winning the game. I had a great group of people with me in that game and at the time was very into it, maybe more so than any other game. It was very difficult for me trying to put everything together, and ended up like a job, but it was fun and hey, how many games have ever been finished.

That game had seriously random and crazy ass shit happening all the time. My favorite game was when I played Hua Xiong and Dong Zhuo conquered nearly 3/4 the map with my help. He Jin died and was supplanted by Zhang Rang (the head of the eunuchs. How funny is that?). Dong Zhuo died soon after and was replaced by some complete failure. Suffice it to say, Dong Zhuo's successor made really dumbass decisions. Slowly but surely he lost territory and officers. Eventually I defected to Zhang Rang. He ended up conquering China.

Yeah, VII rocked my socks. My favorite was when Shi Xie won, because that never happens, and I love him.

The first Betrayal.
When we were all young and virile.
