Rules: No ranged weapons, no mounts, no hidden weapons, and a maximum of two melee weapons of your choice. List your equipment as you enter the thread.
Setting: Dusty wasteland where no grass grows. All that can be seen for miles around is loose dirt. In the background, a war tent can be seen in tatters, fluttering gently in the wind.
Huang Zhong's Equipment: Spear with red tassel, double edged longsword.
Huang Zhong stood at the center of the wasteland, the tattered tent flaps fluttering in the wind. A spear stood impaled in the ground in front of him, the wind kicking up dust around his feet. It was the perfect setting for a duel; it was flat, with no outstanding land marks or terrain. A nice, even ground where warriors could lock themselves into deadly combat. The old veteran had challenged the mighty Taishi Ci of Wu, a man of strong constitution, to a battle of skill here this day. All that was needed was for his opponent to show up, and the match between them could begin.

Taishi Ci rode in on his great warsteed, its mane fluttering with its canter, bouncing and bobbing with the motion of its impressively muscular body. It, like its master, was bred only to carry its rider into battle and to bring the battle to the enemy.
Taishi hopped off the beast, letting it mill about and graze, not worried about its safety; this man would do no harm to such a beautiful creature. Upon Taishi's back was his spear, slung around, and at his side a short sword, light and made for quick strikes. But it was not this latter weapon, but the former that was what Taishi used, a devastating spear that was a part of him as he of it. It was not plain, in any way, but an ornamental looking beast, forged of iron and bronze, the soft metal keeping it light and the hard metal keeping it deadly.
He twirled the wonderful spear around him as he stood against Huang Zhong, a distance of 20 feet between them. He held the spear point down, at an angle away from his body, his other hand lightly in front of him, palm downwards. He looked Zhong in the eyes.
"My man Guan Shao said that you've sent a challenge. I see now that it is true, as you stand before me. Know that I will not hold back due to your age, old man. I know you're much more able bodied than you let on.
But do not sell me short on my age. I am neither young nor old, but in the prime of my life. One of us shall leave victorious here. The other shall be forgotten to history.

Upon seeing the arrival of Taishi Ci, a smile slowly spread across Huang Zhong's wrinkled face. His opponent had shown he had the courage to show after all. Reaching forward, he grasped the embedded spear before him with a firm grip, yanking it from the earth beneath him. He brought it about and before him, held in a much different manner then the warrior of Wu. He held t in both hands, the lower end of the spear near his waist, the head of the spear point slightly up at an angle. The spear shaft was grasped firmly in both hands, his right hand grabbing the middle, his left, the bottom end.
"At last! Your eyes speak truer then your words; you are no mere boy, but a full blooded warrior! It will be an honor to defeat you!"
As the challenger, it was only appropriate that the old man make the first move. Charging forward, his spear stance changed. He held the shaft before him, the spear head pointed towards the ground as he charged. When he neared Taishi Ci, about five feet away from the man, he suddenly cleaved forward using his right hand, striking from above, rather then below, in a downward arc from right to left.

Taishi Ci did not want to mess around with the old man. He watched as the old man charged forwards. He watched as the spear aimed downwards, but then flourished up. He pulled his own spear up with the same speed as the assaulting man, moving forwards now with speed.
The man's spear crashed down as he moved forwards, their shafts meeting. He dropped his left hand down, and pulled at the sword as he closed the distance. The swords was short for a reason; quick strikes that could go from the sheath to the body with quick motion. He moved to the left, pushing his spear right as much as he can to keep the enemy's spear from being a problem.
The short sword flashed forwards, aiming with a distinct point toward's the man's midsection with as much power as he could. He didn't think it would completely kill the man if it hit, and its chance was strong. However, it kept the man off balance, and with a good chance at injuring the man.
