The commander quickly woke up. A dream had came to him, this dream was of an item to stop the horses from charging. After all that was one of the biggest problems they had, it was one of the most difficult problems. The male stood upward from the bed he was laying on and tried to place them together, trying to make sure the idea would work.
"You throw them on the ground and they flip until they stop..Upon stopping if a horse steps on them it would quickly be injured and rendered useless. But maybe if we dip them in poison it would kill the horses not only stop them, once it is in their blood stream the poison would spread around with each step...Causing the rider to fall and leave them open to fire..." The male slowly stood over a desk, optics looking toward the top where the paper was. Right hand moved toward a feather, quickly dipping it in ink he started to line draw. A ball in the middle, then getting out from it four spikes in total. At first the drawing was silly, a ball with spikes all around the side of it, kind of like a spinning top. A child's toy in other words.
"Hm, how was it in my dream..Something that flips until it can stop and stand upward.." The male drew a ball, two spikes on the bottom and two spikes on the top. "It wouldn't be able to stand upward would it, maybe if it stuck to wood then maybe..BUT THE BATTLEGROUND HAS NO WOOD!!" The male leaned backward, falling on his back. The male was frustrated to say the least. Yuki, one of the officers from his swordsmen came into the room to see whats wrong. Only to see that Sarugaku had been on the ground with the paper on his face, the chair all over the place. "GUH!" Yelled Sarugaku, Yuki quickly ran toward the male and picked him upward, gently placing the paper back on the desk.
"Sire you need to relax, what is the problem?" Yuki spoke in a nice tone. Of course calmed down his frustrated mood but still it pissed him off that he couldn't remember the dream that he had. Yuki took up the feather and started to draw on the paper, placing three spikes on the bottom and one on top. Each spike equal distance from each other. "Sire this way if you throw them they will land and stay up with at least one spike on top. If you try to add more spikes it won't work very good." Yuki smiled toward his general, hoping that eased the burden on his commander.
Sarugaku stood silent, thinking of all the possible ways it could work. Stopping infantry and horsemen a like. Sarugaku jumped upward and gave the plans to Yuki. "Give these to a local blacksmith, tell them to make two, I want to make sure they work first." Yuki quickly bowed toward Sarugaku. Quickly Yuki ran off toward a black smith, giving him the plans and measurements. After about an hour the spikes were done, he quickly brought them to Sarugaku for a test run. "Ok if we coat them with a poison it would make them more deadly to horse and infantry. But we will add that later on, for now lets focus on just getting this started."
Sarugaku threw one of the ground, it landing exactly how it was supposed too, three spikes on the ground and one facing toward the sky. "Yes, and if someone steps on them they will be injected with poison... good..good...." The male threw the second spike, the second one landing exactly like the first. "Ok good, tell the tailors to make a leather pouch to hold them. Also make sure you make them the sharpest they can be. This way they could cut threw the shoes and hoofs of the men. Give them a month period to make as many as they can." Yuki quickly left with the plans once more, going to the black smith and giving him the orders, and going to the tailor and giving her the orders for a leather pouch.
After about a month they all came back. A very large pile of spikes being carted by a horse and a rider. On another cart were leather pouches. "Ok, put twenty spikes per pouch, I want them to be able to cover a whole area." Lips spread apart in a smile, this was going to work, this was going to stop the horse advance.
